Advanced Graduate Pathway – Civil and Environmental Engineering

Advanced Graduate Pathway (AGP) Pathway A (CEE) – (5 terms)

In the first term, students will complete one mid-level undergraduate course alongside English language courses and the preparatory learning modules. In the second term, students will complete three upper-level undergraduate courses and one credit-bearing graduate-level course to build essential skills for success in a competitive cohort throughout their professional master’s program in the following three terms at Western.

Students in the AGP Pathway A (CEE) will complete two terms of study at WesternIC and upon successfully meeting all progression requirements will complete the remaining three terms of the MEng degree at the Faculty of Engineering. Students can choose to pursue the following fields of study within the Civil and Environmental Engineering MEng program:

  • Environmental and Water Resources Engineering
  • Structural and Infrastructure Engineering

The first term of AGP Pathway A (CEE) is comprised of:

  • One mid-level (0.5) undergraduate course from the following list, depending on field of study:

Program Progression Requirements

You will progress to term three with 0.5 credit (one course) toward your MEng degree upon successful completion of the AGP Pathway A (CEE) at WesternIC if you meet the following requirements:

  • A completion of all your academic courses in Term 1 and Term 2 with a cumulative average of 70% or higher.
  • A completion of all Learning Modules with:
    • Minimum grade of 70% English Boost + Quantitative Language Module
    • Minimum grade of 70% in Category 1 Learning Modules
    • Passing Grade in Category 2 Learning Modules

Advanced Graduate Program (AGP) Pathway B (CEE) – (5 terms)

This pathway offers the opportunity to enhance academic readiness, complete pre-requisite requirements and build confidence in preparation for a full graduate academic workload. In the first term, students will complete two mid-level undergraduate courses alongside the preparatory learning modules. In the second term students will complete two upper-level undergraduate courses and two graduate-level courses.

Students in AGP Pathway B (CEE) will complete two terms of study at WesternIC and upon successfully meeting all progression requirements will complete the remaining three terms of the MEng degree at the Faculty of Engineering
