English Requirements

WesternIC teaches in English, so you will need to show that you meet our English proficiency requirement to be admitted. You can meet this requirement by achieving one of the scores outlined in the tables below. Individual band scores also apply.

Professional Master’s English Entry Requirements for Pathway Entry

Master’s Qualifying Pathway (MQP) Pathway A

If you meet the English Boost language and the relevant academic requirements, you will take English Boost in your first term of study.

Master’s Qualifying Pathway (MQP) Pathway B

If you meet both English language and relevant academic requirements, you will not need to take English Boost during your first term. Additionally, you will be eligible to enrol in a 0.5-credit graduate-level academic course in your first term.

  • WesternIC reserves the right to require applicants with an English Language Proficiency score different from their academic English prerequisite achievement to present further evidence of proficiency.

Applicants from the following countries are automatically exempt from needing to present proof of English Language proficiency:
